Choosing Your Wedding Date

This is possibly one of the more difficult things you do when planning a wedding. The pandemic of 2020 and 2021 certainly hasn’t helped. Because so many couples had to postpone their weddings in 2020, there is now a crunch for venue space and to find your other vendors. Pre-pandemic, the majority of couples plan their weddings on a Saturday between September and April here in Sarasota and Bradenton.

Now, more than ever, it is time to think outside of the box for your wedding day. Normally, adjusting the date to a Friday or a Sunday would  save as much as 20% or more off the total cost of your wedding. That probably will not be the case this year or next.

Consider a Thursday evening event. These are still very unusual. It is close enough to the end of the workweek where friends and family could get the next day off so they could celebrate your wedding day with you.

1. More Quality Wedding Professionals Available

Most quality wedding professionals book their services as much as 18 months in advance. If you are flexible enough to move the wedding day to a Thursday, you are at least 75% likely to find your choice open for the date.

2. Save Money

The fact that vendors have much more availability on Thursday gives you the opportunity to save money.

In order to increase this “off-day” business, many professionals will give you discounts of at least 5% to as much as 25% or more. Call your professionals and get all of the details.
